“You don’t owe it to anyone to stay the same person you’ve always been. You don’t owe that to your friends, your family, or anyone else. You are 100% free to start changing your life right now. You should never apologize to anyone for changing your life for the better.” – Brad P

Brad P is a well known life coach working within the “men’s sphere” as a dating and relationship coach. Here he reminds us that when you begin a path of self improvement, it can upset the status quo. Some people might not approve – perhaps because it shines a spotlight on their own lack of effort in this department.

People can want you to remain the same because this is comfortable for them. If you suddenly go an improve out of all recognition, it changes the balance of power. There is sometimes an unconscious instinct “among the herd” to try to bring down those who are beginning to excel. This has also been known as “tall poppy syndrome”. They don’t want you to be better than them – but Brad P reminds us to cut through this noise and have no fear of taking control of your destiny.
